The Sixth of January

Inspired by the recent events in Washington D.C. and the English Folk Verse “The Fifth of November”.

Be wary, be wary The Sixth of January
The Pro-Trumpers’ treasonous plot
I know of no reason
Why these Pro-Trumpers’ treason
Should ever be forgot.

Such shame, such shame they revealed with intent
While invoking his name to the Capitol they went
Swept up in emotion
Such unyielding devotion
Why these elected officials could all get bent.

To end, to end the malfeasance at play
They’d stop the steal that very day
Before Congress could issue the call
For their savior, their herald to fall
And be besmirched and banished away.

No more, no more time could they bide
Then it would shift the tide
And momentum would certainly wane
Access they did gain
While their targets would retreat and hide.

Holla boys, holla girls
As they raid and twirl
In chairs and wield powers
For a few mere hours
Then the guard gave them the hurl.

So sad, so sad it all seems
Malice meant only for dreams
Not this nightmarish reality
Spawned from political duplicity
And inspired by vitriolic screams.

Lock them up! Lock them up!
And let none of them sup
Till the last vagabond has been caught
For law and order must be sought
Against the wicked and corrupt.

We shall proclaim from the depths of our anima,
God Bless America!!!
Hip, hip, hooray!
