Claw

Claw yourself from underneath me
Tell your lies as I flee
Be bound to the inconsistency
That you’ll all drown in without me
Be lost in the turmoil of your own design
Be buried in the darkness as I resign
Myself to my own fate
As I arrive at the golden gate
Only alas for it to fail
And be drug back down to this familiar hell

Claw,
Claw out of me
This hope I had placed
The misguided look of satisfaction
Has now been erased
For doom and devastation it has been thoroughly tamed
And now I found myself bound to my own self-inflicted shame
Repeatedly burned by your discarded ash
Feasting on crumbs not even fit for the trash
I need a moment to regroup
To piece back together my escape route
For it was not resolute.

Claw,
Claw towards the dream
The one I had meant to be
The one that would overtake this cursed reality
Fate won’t let me be free
Or sever these blue chains
So to you I remain bound
Trapped in a vortex of darkness
Devoid of any sound
I should expect nothing less
And I curse myself for daring have dared to dream
For though you may be meant for others
You were never meant for me
I was just too blinded by my own desires to see.
